Nose of sweet-smelling sherry, chocolate, some leather.
Palate is pretty yummy stuff. Rather sweet, and the sherry's here in a way that's a little to sweet, kinda cloying with gaseous stuff... but that smoothes out as the glass opens up. Chocolate again. Big spice crescendo finish with dry ginger and oak. The whole thing really blossoms, with additional complexity, particularly around the oak aspects, with baking spices, tobacco, and especially coffee in the finish.
Strikes me as a perfect sipper for the study. Great stuff.
