P: Velvety. Full flavored. Butter pecan pie and rubber. Distant hint of spearmint. Nice oakiness.
Although this doesn't jump out as an on your knees winner, this is a great drinking experience. The mouthfeel is perfect, the flavor is tasty and not overbearing. This is the scotchy equivalent of a recliner, blanket, and glowing hearth.
Nose is a tangy kind of smoke, with ketchup, hints of new make. Palate is clean and honeyed smoke, quite sweet. Something "unfinished"-tasting in here keeps my enjoyment down. Not a lot of dimension but it is tasty, though it doesn't stand out among a bunch of other PE's of similar age (presumably) and release date.
Lots of softer phenolic notes that are very nice. Dry hay and herbal qualities that work with the flint and sweet peat. Nice nose, now onto taste. Very Waxy mouthfeel that starts off spicy with a loads of peat, citrus and changes to sweet oats. There's a long minty green apple peel finish.
