Mostly smoke on the nose here, but mostly perfume on the palate. There's not a lot of wine on this despite its Bordeaux cask. One of the better of the "perfumed" Bowmores I've had, but still a perfumed Bowmore, which is not my favorite flavor profile.
N: Effervescent, briny, smokey, and a little strange. P: Powerfully briny, along the lines of the 17 year, but with some lavender and some other unidentifiable funk, kinda like I just ate a Tums. F: Lingering funk. While I didn't find anything overtly wrong with this, it just seems like an experiment that doesn't need repeating.
N: Burning oil and plastic. Slighly briny. Strange.
P: Thin. Some sort of perfume, maybe lavendar. Pail water. Everything broken down says I should hate it, but I kinda dig it a little. It's my s&m fetish malt. Finish leans toward the pail water.
Smokey perfume and an obvious wine cask involved. This reminded me of a weak malt that was finished in an active cask for a short time. The wine just didn't work well. Still, nice for what it is supposed to be.
