Nose of massive maple syrup (the real stuff and the fake stuff), big plate of waffles. Some smoke. WOW, what a great nose. Jura says this is heavily peated, but it sure smells heavily Aunt Jemima'd.
Palate… hmmm. It's kind of all smoke. Where's that candy goodness from the nose? Oh, okay, after a few sips, it's there. Yum. Buttery. Nose is best part, but a tasty whisky altogether. B/B+
N: Maple and peat, charcoal. P: Big peat with some sweet sugar drizzle... F: ...to finish things off. A bit of an odd bird with the maple notes (almost like Tennessee whiskey), but quite enjoyable nonetheless.
