Really inviting and interesting nose -- apple juice, big caramel, and a very-present gardeny aspect of tomato plants and Mexican peppers (serrano, jalapeno), though that fades somewhat as the whisky opens up. Palate -- oh, kinda neat. mildly sweet and full of malty tones, nice warm spices, and a layering of toffee in the background. Vegetal traces. Some sips give me something like yellow cake. Finish is lengthy, and leaves me with a nice, malty mouth.
N: Cereals, citrus, brown sugar, and a whiff of custard. P: Nectary and sweet (but not too sweet), medium bodied with some marshmallow and flan-like notes. Quite tasty, goes down easy. F: Hint of chocolate.
hmmm....first nose was really nice and then the vegetal notes came in and ruined the party.....the creams and sugars hit me first and then it progressed into a grassy farmland. The palate was a bit interesting...almost like it wasn't sure which way it wanted to go. It had some middle aged sherry notes and yet seemed young and bourbony also. I give it a few extra marks for being different...
