Nose is much fruitier than expected, and without the characteristic phenolic attack. Apricots and earth. Palate is rather sweet and nice, the smoke here is mellowed and lacks much of the medicinal, iodine distillery character. Semi-syrupy. Smoke becomes strong in the finish and sticks around extremely long. The sweetness and smoke don't quite combine right... but it's still a very tasty whisky. B/B+
