N: Fruity in the Glenlivet 12 kind of profile (sweet apple butter) but with some more oak underneath giving it a little more spice. P: Fruity attack that meets the expectation set up by the nose, pleasingly dry and punchy. Simple and refreshing. F: Gets hot for a moment but then fades to an enjoyable sweet tartness, like the lingering taste of sour patch kids. I started off thinking I'd give this a B, but as the initial punch of the high abv wears off I find the whisky getting a bit less interesting. So B-.
Palate: Strangely indistict at first taste (scotch scotchy scotch scotch). After a while I picked up dusty oranges. A little bit of medical glove rubber (cough left, cough right, now sniff my fingers)
N: custard, oatmeal with fresh fruits cut into it, green grapes, a bit of tar and light sherry P: green grapes, toasted bread, a whiff of smoke F: fresh squeezed limes with salt and a bitter tarry aftertaste
