Nose of a cider mill and caramel. Palate has rich toffee, with noticeable sherry influence as well as a surprising and unusual, uncharacteristic peat presence. In some ways this reminds me of the Spanish dessert called alajú, which is a sort of paste made of honey, almonds, walnuts, and orange peel. Overall, a nice whisky. B/B+
