Nose of vanilla frosting, nougat, strawberry and cherry candies. Add a floral halo to that, honeysuckle. In my mouth there's oranges, nougat again (that good French kind with the pistachios in it), light caramels... yep, this is a tasty one. A lot in common with other Dallas Dhus around this age and vintage, with a woodier quality than most -- not enough to hurt the experience, although this might have been better had it been bottled a few years earlier. Finish is long with lighter spices like cinnamon and red pepper flakes. Floral stuff keeps wafting through my nostrils, making me love this distillery all the more. I repeat the song I've been singing for some time now: In 10 years, everyone will be wondering why we didn't buy lots of Dallas Dhu while it was still around. B+/A-
Nose is oaky with apples and floral notes that continue into the palate. Gets fruitier for a bit then fades nicely into a clean and crisp finish. Tasty.
