Hugely peaty, peppery, smoke. Finishes hot. [Retasted blind several years later, still B+.] N: Peat and light smoke. Iodine, peat, and the sea. P: Some floral notes simmering underneath and some quality peat, but a bit too much heat and alcohol. Light and evaporative. F: Lingering.
Musty nose. Smoky peppery palate with some sweetness. Hot finish, water helps. One dimensional but worth trying. During the blind tasting I said, "I'm going on record that this is a young Ardbeg," and now I would like to be called Mr. Awesome because, of course, I am.
Just a bit too young. The kind of whisky that make your face contort and your eyeballs wretch in different directions. Underneath the pain... raw and tasty in that Ardbeggy kind of way.
The nose is very abrasive with lots of green vegetation which i get out of younger begs. Loads of peat and salt with a short finish.
Retaste: Still quite rough but this time I get more cloves and floral aspects with a more lingering finish. I enjoyed it more the secnd time around. B/B-
