N: Nutty malt dominates with some dried fruit sherry notes peeping through (figs, raisins), but very light. P: Really explodes with fruit on the palate, dark fruit (plums, purple grape juice), very tasty. Not your typical sherry cask profile, it's very fresh and sweet (as opposed to rich and sweet, if that makes sense). F: The fruit lingers, slightly oily. Very good.
Nose of spice and smooth raisins and dark cherries and fruits. Palate is hotter with chocolates and a fruity darkness that fits so well. Longer than meduium finish on raisins and chocolates. Almost gets into the A- category.
Amazing sherry-fruit nose, but super-hot on the palate. A very healthy glug of water chills it out a bit and opens up some interesting fruit, but not my favorite.
Yum! What strikes me immediately here is the sweet complexity... it's got dimension and character yet doesn't overwork to get there. Yeah, quite a sweet whisky. Plummy. There's sherry everywhere in managed amounts (like, you notice it in every aspect of the experience, but it's somewhat restrained... except that it's everywhere of course). In the finish, I taste Christmas. Like, pine and wintergreen stuff. B+/A-
