Nose is bright fruits, notably apples and peaches and midwestern fruit-belt stuff.  Also some good malty notes and brown sugar.  Palate continues the brown-sugar thing while only being mildly sweet (but a good mild sweetness without being at all dry), along with the same fruity aspects.  And, happily enough, there's that characteristic tough-to-pin-down but definitely idiosyncratic Springbank spice.... here I get cinnamon and tingly traces of allspice berries.  This all culminates in a long-ish, yummy finish.  A great way to start an evening, as it's not too big, yet it's not weak either, full of great flavors and happy nuances.  I wrote "fun."  Really tasty.  B+/A-

Rarely am I so divergent from Adam's review, but I think this is pretty bad.  The nose smells like dirty tap water with lemon and there is a very dusty and metallic aftertaste.  I actually didn't finish the glass, and that's rare for me.  AS and DW also didn't like it, so I feel sure it wasn't just my palate being off or something.
