Yummy, wine-y, strong flavor and sweet.

Rich spice in cask-strength levels, dried fruit background.  Long finish.  Takes water well.  Could use greater dimension, but this is very yummy.

Nose is organic, tobacco.   Some burnt tobacco on the palate, exotic dark spices.
Andy

Grapey cherry with a thick and creamy woody finish

N - Slightly sweet, oaky nose.
T - Very lightly sherried, buttery, strong but not overpowering.
F - Medium length but not overwhelming finish, despite the cask strength.
O - Very characteristic of Glen Elgin, a tasty malt worth purchasing.

N: Nice, clean, light and fruity. A little touch of white pepper, some pears, and some light malt flavors. A little hint of pine. Water opens some more grassy notes. Brings up a hint of papaya.

P: Malty and sweet to lead with a bit of heat. Pears, a little touch of hay, slightly earthy, some chili oil. A little woody. Water makes this more approachable, filling out the palate with a creamier mouthfeel, some more wood notes, a bit of gentle spice and tobacco, a hint of sherry.

F: A good bit of heat. Slight pine, cantaloupe, chili oil, plenty of malt, a bit of hay. Water takes this in the direction of a good, robust, anyday malt.

Good cask strength malt. Shines with water (and it'll take plenty).

Nose: Spicy and sweet with a bit of wine

Palate: A bit of heat. Spice. Honeysuckle. Full flavored. Little discernable sherry influence. Adding water brings out some cloves on the nose.

Finish: Medium length. Burns a bit on the tongue. Peppery and oaky.  Dry wood at the very end.

Overall: Adding a bit of water is almost required for this one. It brings out some more malty cereal notes and changes the finish to something a bit more creamy but still dry. A solid whisky but not spectacular.
