Nose is smoky, earthy, dirty, menthol, antiseptic. Band Aids and white wine.

Palate hits with sweet, sooty smoke. Very medicinal with menthol and eucalyptus that just hits over and over. Sweet sherry backup. The label says Oloroso finish, but there are big notes of Fino in here. Lengthy finish.

This is definitely not one for everyone, but I'd recommend it if you need a good solid drinker of the peater/perverse kind. It's not the strongest B+, but still a "definitely want to own" if I needed something to fill in the category. As of this writing (April '15) it's still available.

Ries

n: dried tropical fruit, doused campfire, dry earth. Medicinal petroleum salve in a tin.

t: Sweet smoked red fruits initially. More BBQ smoke, wood char, and mint in middle. Enjoyable and rather cohesive; not overly peaty and with a nice fruit balance to make it come together. Intense - I couldn't drink this everyday.  [solid B]
