N: Fantastic sherried nose that is bright, tart and slightly acidic.  Hibiscus tea, raspberry, black berry, leather, varnished mahogany, melted hard candy, toasted baguette with exotic spices.  There just so much going on here: vinegar, mustard, and melted butter.

P: Just as good on the palate.  Theres a good balance of sherry fruit sweetness that is mixed with dry tobacco.  A lot of heat/ spice from cayenne in the astringent mid palate.  All the flavors contrast beautifully.  The sherry is in line with fruit jams and marmalade.

F: The dry lengthy finish is wonderfully bitter with smoke, espresso and roasted seaweed.

A ton of stuff to find in this whisky.  Its really stands out because so much is going on, yet it manages to amalgamate.  Yet another great example of 1972 distillate but this one seperates itself becuase of the pronounced acidity and spice.  Epic stuff!

n: dark rancio - burnt strawberry jam and dark oak. Balsamic vinegar with a hint of vegetable oil and orange wax.

t: dried strawberry - full of dark fruit and milk chocolate. Raspberry compote and dried tobacco leaf. Rich and creamy mouthfeel. Middle is all classic sherry oak and more of the dark chocolate. Dry sherry oak body that comes together perfectly in a delicious finish.  [A-/ almost A]

The nose has deep sherry notes with prune and plum. The palate has a dry sherry which grows slightly sweeter as it matures. The finish is slightly metalic with strong sherry notes. It's drier than #712, which I tasted side by side.
