Nose:  Chocolate and sherry with some nice fruit notes.

Palate:  Some sulfur, lots of dry sherry.

Finish:  Chocolate, tobacco, herbs.

The nose has a lot of complexity but much of it doesn't follow through to the palate.

Very chocolate nose. Sherry. Green apple. The chocolate is more subdued on the palate, with deep drid fruits, raisins. Very rich, syrupy, and enveloping. Very much what you'd expect for this pedigree and style. Great stuff.

N: Candle wax, young strawberry, red vines, black licorice, oolong tea and melted cherry candy

P: Dry and astringent.  Dark chocolate and trail mix

F: Med long finish.  A bit farty and oxidized

Andy

n:  Pungent.  Grape kool aid.

p:  Reminds me of a finished cask.  Potpouri and a bit winey.

N: Chocolatey oak, really yum!

P: Brownies, bitter, vegetal, balanced, yet complex

F: Nice sweet flavors and spice - good call on potpouri, Andy.

Deep red color. Funky nose with moldy cheese (I think this is the chocolate note others were getting but on my nose was off) and subtle charcoal notes. The whisky enveloped my mouth with some more funk (oak variety this time). Very nice pop. Overall good, not great. [12/13/13/]
