The nose is indeed reminiscent of George T. Stagg, very rich and woody with sweet toffee notes, spice and oak. The palate leads off with sweet candy, then rye spice, oak and a touch of mint with a nice, chewy mouthfeel. The finish is lightly minty. A few drops of water brings out some vanilla and herbal notes.

The nose is rather pleasant with brown sugar and whisps of random notes (apricot and other dried fruits). The palate is oak heavy and has some very off-putting notes. Overall, I didn't enjoy this. [11/24/2013]

Floral sweetness , vanilla cream, old cedar and pine wood, blackberry and raspberry.  Dense mouthfeel. Sweet corn and a bit of spice tails of with a medium finish  of licorice and wax.

The nose had alot of very good stuff and it does remind me of the elder stagg but it falls a bit short on the palate.  Still tasty though.
