This one has an amazing nose that starts with a big blast of rye then moves to toffee, butterscotch and brandy. The palate isn't quite as strong as the nose. It has very dry, spicy notes with cinnamon and wood. The finish is pleasantly briny and spicy.
The nose on this is absolutely fantastic. The palate is good but lacks the sweet notes that balance the nose so well. Water mellows it nicely, bringing out maple syrup, citrus and honey.
Slowly emerging clove, cinnamon, honey, oak, vanilla, and red berries. All lighter but layered.
The palate is pretty much what the nose said it would be, with notes of apple pie. Quite tasty and drinkable forever. Finish is a mild, medium-length fade. This isn't knock your socks off stuff -- more like a warm pair of comfy socks.
N: Odd, tobacco, herbal spice, clove cigarettes, dusty. P: Light and fruity, almost like an herbal strawberry tea. F: Gets quite wood in the finish, a little funky.
