N: Slightly industrial peat, lightly malty, gentle fruit.

P: Nice, white pepper, gentle malt, slightly industrial again with tar and diesel. Apple skin shows and a nice hint of sticky toffee.

F: Industrial, tarry diesel leads; good wood influence and apple skin brings up the rear.

A little sweeter & sharper than other Port Ellens out there. The apple skin is not a note I commonly get from Port Ellen but it worked nicely here.

Nose:  Light sherry and light smoke, matchsticks.

Palate:  sweet and light sherry up front, then smoke and a bit of perfume.

Finish:  Sweet on the tongue but the smoke wins out, like a BBQ pit.

Fuji

N: Resinous pine trees, minerals, charred meats, lilies, cinnamon, toffee and peanut brittle

P: Crisp ashy peat with olive oil. Black tea and licorice work alongside sweet oranges.

F: Clean finish: tarry, waxy and lightly peated
At first I wasn't a big fan of this. But give this a bit of time to air out. The sherry component really reveals it self after after some time and made this a lot more enjoyable.

Very faint amber color. Overall, a very wood dram, but something I really enjoyed. Spicy and vanilla forward nose. Get a lot of smoke, wood and a cabinet full of spices on the tongue. [4/19/13]

n:  Mustier than most PEs

p: Hot and peppery.  Musty and sour.

N: Sweet sherry. A little hoppy. Quite pleasant.

P: Very bitter at first, but more sweetness and smoke later. Sherry begins to come on stronger through the finish.

F: The sherry finishes it out well. Lingers really nicely.

Wasn't a huge fan at first sip, but it made a comeback after a few more tastes. (Maybe it needed some air? Maybe I needed a break? Hell that I know.)
