This is freaking awesome. Chocolate mixed with sherry and loads of tobacco (dry cigar and cigarette leaves). Leather and star anise give this added depth. A great lengthy finish. Strawberries and bitter chocolate.

Big vibrant fruit bomb sherry goodness with tobacco and leather.  This has more fruit compared to cask #702.  Both are rated A in my book with a slight preference to #712.

The nose has sulphured sherry and vanilla beans.  The palate is certainly big sherry but I hesitate to call it a sherry bomb because it's not the one-note sort of thing that I associate with that term. Yes, there's sherry, but it's dry with ample spices (clove, white pepper) and a lot more going on. Pepper dominates the finish.

This is a big, fabulous whisky!

n: sandalwood, tahitian black vanilla, cherry milk chocolates. Strong black tea, musty basement. Very sophisticated and classic. Fantastic nose.

t: very fruit forward and semi-sweet with black cherry and strawberry jam on a vanilla wafer. Slight scorch element in middle with a delicious musty sherry oak finish. Fantastic fruit bomb!  [A/A-]
