Lotsa sherry in the nose, but slightly farty. Yeah I know that there are all sorts of technical and nicer ways to describe that smell, but it's just the way that I always think of it. A whole lotta first fill flavor in here, figgy toffee. That sherry is a little "off" but it's still massively drinkable.
Nose: Very typical Springbank oversherried nose. Very sulphuric.
Palate: A sulphur bomb. Dry sherry with plenty of sulphur char notes.
Finish: The finish gives a quick gasp of pure sherry before its inundated with the sulphur notes.
This one is very one-dimensional and in a way that I don't prefer. I have a problem with sulphur. I'm sure some of my colleagues loved this one, and while the sulphur wasn't offensive to me, it was dominating in a way that took away from the other qualities of the whisky.
