Nose of porky, hickory BBQ. And something perfumey and nice. Palate is initially tasty, but then the finish hits and lots of new-make flavors rush in. That makes the rest irrelevant for me.
N: Big sharp citrus peaty kick with a lot of maltiness. The nose is dense with olive oil, eucalyptus wood, new band aid, and smoke. It has a lot to offer.
P: Dense mouth-feel with musty dark peat. But there is some sweetness by way of charred honey and warm toffee. There are notes of sweet wines as well. This part is great but disappears quickly because the finish takes over.
F: Sticky mouth coating bitter citrus peel and toasted oats.
I was a bit disappointed with this because I liked the nose and mouth-feel. The tarry bitterness overshadowed the sweeter notes that I liked.
p: Red hots, white pepper, and a lot of tar. Young and vivacious, this one. A wild stallion if you've got the guts to put it in your guts. Long finish sticks around a long time. Maybe too long.
