The nose is highly botanical and floral with some sweet herbal notes alongside some definite rye spice. This is certainly young but has a lot of herbaceous character. There's juniper, anise and then some hoppy beer flavors, like a good microbrew, yielding to some spice, oregano and chili powder. The finish has a touch of spice but doesn't linger much.
A little rough around the edges but full of character and shows promise. C+/B-
N: Young rye, fairly sharp and piney at first. A bit of wood and a little pine-sol like cleaner.
P: A bit bitter initially, fairly oily. A little youthful rye, a little light pepper. Slightly bready, and a light malty sweetness. Flat-tasting wood presence as well.
F: A little white pepper, some youthful rye, a bit of oily hop-like presence found in Malt House. Some light wood.
The nose is a bit sharp for me, but this is a good young rye. The finish is the best part.
