Nose: Dry sherry, a bit of peppercorn. Palate: Big dry sherry flavors from start to finish. A little bit flat on the palate compared to some of the earlier A'bunadhs. Balanced sherry finish.
Water brings out some surprising sweetness, which almost overwhelms. Few whiskies show this much change with just a few drops of water.
Of the six or seven Batches I have tried, this is my highest rated (although not by much). I really enjoy this chewey/meaty sherry profile. Dry at times but also so tangy and heavy that it cries out to be paired with chocolate. Always a solid buy in my book.
