Made by the Tom Moore/Barton distillery from a mashbill of 53% rye, 37% corn, 10% barley.

Price was around $135 on initial release.

A softer version of the 16 year, less rye spice and more oak.  Still tasty but I prefer the strong attack of the 16 year as a hardcore rye fan.

Nose:  Oak, candy, a bit of rust (but not in a bad way).
Palate:  Very Bourbony with understated rye spice, buttery and minty.
Finish:  Bourbon

Nice but not as bold and spicy as some of High West's other whiskeys.  Hey, for them, this is a low-rye mashbill.

The least potent of the line of High West Whiskies and the most mellow.  Probably why I liked it the most.

 

I have limited experience with Ryes so don't compare my Rye scores to Malt scores.
