What is your whiskey worth?

Got an old bottle of whiskey? Want to know if you hit the jackpot? We've got more whiskey expertise than New York's "professional expert appraisers," and we share our knowledge for free.

You can also check our frequently asked questions about why we do this, information on old whiskey bottles, determining their value, and sale so you know what you might expect.

1. Describe whatever the label says. The name, % alcohol or proof, quantity (750ml, pint, etc), any age statement (like 12 Years Old), where it was distilled, any distillation or bottling dates, etc.

2. How full is it? See diagram.

3. What is the type and condition of the top seal? Foil, screw cap, cork, wax, etc.

4. Is there a tax stamp over the top of the bottle? What color? Are there dates? If there are state tax stamps (a little sticker often shaped like a state) describe that too.

5. Where are you located?
